Although the team set a new record, coach Sharon Versyp did not seem to worried about it and assures that UConn is the best team she has seen. The most that the Boilermakers had lost was 46 points back in 1983 against Ohio State. Connecticut also became the team that has scored the most points in Purdue's arena and the third to ever score 100 or more against the Boilermakers.

Danielle Campbell scored 12 points, Lakisha Freeman added another 10, Moore, Charles and Hunter combined for 38 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in the first half for Purdue. However, Versyp was not pleased at all with the way they played throughout the first half and teammates agree that they should have been much more aggressive and less tentative.

Purdue is now in desperate need of an outstanding conference season or a conference tournament title in order to make it to the NCAA Tournament. They had been playing well, and were coming off a win at Indiana. Versyp said the Boilermakers will bounce back.

The Huskies are at the top right now and they have won their last three games for a total of 149 points. The team managed a total shot percentage of 49% against Purdue and their out rebound score was 55-34 also holding Purdue to 29 percent shooting without mentioning the 1 for 13 from the three point line.

Brittany Hunter scored 15 points, Meghan Gardler scored 14 and Maya Moore and Renee Montgomery each had 13 points for the Huskies. Tahirah Williams made a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left to give the Huskies their first 100-point game of the season having scored 90 or more three times before.

Geno Auriemma, the Huskies coach, is very tough and strict with his team even when they perform well and that has been the key to have such a successful team. With this outcome he extremely satisfied and acknowledged that UConn played excellent basketball and hope to continue that way all the way through the NCAA Tournament.
